Asian Inspired Baked Chicken

Asian Inspired Baked Chicken

So I found this recipe a while back on Chow.com and always wanted to try it but never got the chance until recently. I added a few more ingredients to spin it into the BellaLiciousGhFoods signature and I must say I was really happy with the outcome. Plus the family enjoys it and it practically goes with everything. The process is a long wait but I can definately say that it is worth the wait.

Ingredients

1/2 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup packed sugar

3 tbspns peeled and finely chopped ginger

1 tbspn finely chopped garlic

2 tspns toasted seasame oil

1 tspn ground blackpepper (Fresh)

1 tbspn dill

2 tbspn onion

2 Oranges

Bone-in chicken thighs, drumsticks or breast

Directions

Place first nine ingredients into a bowl and mix together.

Taste for salt and adjust if needed

Reserve one of the oranges for later.

Wash chicken and place in ziplock bag or a broiler proof baking dish

Pour mixture onto chicken, and make sure it coats every part of chicken

Refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours

Remove from fridge and let it come to room tempreture

Heat oven at 400ºF and place chicken in oven

Bake about 40-45 mins or until chicken is a dark brown color

If you want skin to crisp up, set oven on broil and allow 3-5 mins.

Take out of oven and allow to rest. Serve with any main dish plus sauce.
